In the book world, a very common collection of books is a trilogy. A trilogy consists of three books in a series. In this post, I'll give you a trilogy (get it?) of my very favorite trilogies.
1. The Wraithwood Trilogy by Alyssa Roat
I have talked about these books SO much! Whether it's the fabulous author, Alyssa Roat, or the phenomenal protagonist, Brinnie Lane, this series has so many components that make it that much more awesome. The Wraithwood Trilogy is perfect for fans of fantasy, adventure, romance, and cozy curl-up-on-the-couch books. In a nutshell, Wraithwood is about an estranged uncle, a mysterious mansion, and Arthurian legend-- together that lead to a world of magic and bloodthirsty wizards who want teenage Brinnie dead. (Goodreads) Personally, my favorite book is #3, Castelon, so I definitely encourage you to read them ALL!! I read Wraithwood and Mordizan very soon after they came out, and I experienced that cliff-hanger anticipation that ensues when the next book has not come out yet. I read #1 and #2 all over again just to get ready for Castelon. It is definitely the saddest book in the trilogy, but oh so good. Anyone who asks for book recommendations has me going on and on about this one!!
2. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I've discussed this one a good bit too. A very popular series, The Hunger Games has inspired a movie adaptation and author Suzanne Collins has released The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, a prequel (also made into a movie adaptation) and is set to release yet another prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping, in 2025 (which already is planned to have a movie!!) This book would appeal to dystopian/science fiction lovers, as well as fans of romance novels and adventure/survival-type stories. I enjoy this series because of how life-like Suzanne's characters and settings are. The whole time I was reading them, I felt as if I was right there, watching the events of the games unfold before me.
3. A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Recently, fans of this series have started to get excited about the BBC series adaptation!! It comes out very soon, and I for one am pumped. These books are detective stories about Pippa (Pip) Fitz-Amobi, who "decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent . . . and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn't want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger." (Goodreads, because who explains it better??)
From the moment I started reading, I was hit with clues and culprits, suspects and suspense, along with so many jaw dropping plot twists. Not convinced? There's also romance, featuring quite literally the BEST book boyfriend on planet earth. (And I will die on this hill.)
My best friend had me read these so she would have someone to obsess over them with, and I probably read the whole trilogy in less than three weeks. As Good as Dead, #3, is my personal favorite, because of how well the story progressed and grew throughout the series. The main mysteries in all three of them were seamless, and Holly did such a wonderful job of tying all of the books together. I was definitely satisfied after reading the last one...but that doesn't mean I wouldn't them all over again!!
That's all for now, so thank y'all for listening to my monthly rant. I am so thankful to the people who read this, even if that's only a handful. You're so appreciated 😊!
